Avast! firewall does it work on galaxy y?

I own a galaxy y-rooted.I am keen to know what I have to do to get avast firewall working.
Whenever I enable the firewall feature avast!tells me that my kernel does not support netfilter and asks me to
install a custom ROM.Could anyone suggest a kernel update for my phone

I can only recommend doing a Google search for “galaxy y custom ROM” and I think you will find a one or two to try.
