Avast FireWall issue

Hi all,

Firewall in Avast Internet Security did Stop working right after i did intall its licence file - Firewall is not showing any reports after that, it ‘looks dead’ . Anyone please, what should i do now, or is that even known issue ? Thank you

what security program did you use before installing avast?
did you remove it before installing avast?
did you run the vendors removal tool to clear any leftover files that may conflict?

hi,

I did re-install Avast Internet Security to re-installed win7, so, on ‘clean machine’.

try avast repair

contolpanel > ad remove programs > avast > uninstall > repair option > wait a couple of minutes and reboot

ok did it - still same - FireWall looks dead and no reports of it whatsoever since day i did install its licence file.

what do you mean by dead?
any avast error messages?
when you open avast …do you have all green…like first screenshot here?

If it’s a freshly installed OS are you sure Microsoft Security Essentials was not installed when performing all the windows updates?

yes, as in ur pic is shown and No error messages - only FireWall seems “broken” - Nothing happens in it, nothing Visible.

Windows Updates came long after i did install licence file.

AIS firewall is silent, after the initial question about the ntwork type I doubt if you will see it again

Is this what you are seeing ?

hi,
no, i dont see it anymore as in ur pic - i mean, Nothing Visible Happens (no green nor blue lines for In and Out traffic - a straight line Only), and No Firewall Reports either since day i did install licence file.

Does it say it is running ?

Are the rules operative

yes, its Running and rules are Operative.

When you look at my one … The picture is from when I did a windows 8 download so the usage will be quite high.

This is my last week in total… Are you showing nothing at all ?

Nothings at all - a Straight Line Only, since licence file install.

And at the bottom it states 0 bytes in and out ?

I may need to get some of the proper Avast boys on this

right - 0 (zero) bytes, in both

  • Which version of AIS…??
  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??

  • AIS ?!

  • Win7, 64bit, SP1

  • Windows Defender and SpywareBlaster (installed After Avast licence file, 13th Oct)

AIS = avast! Internet Security
