Avast firewall question- rundll32.exe is trying to connect inside your own pc

Hello, Over a month ago I brought the internet security software and this morning there was 3 firewall questions from avast, 2 saying ‘rundll32.exe is trying to connect inside your own pc’ and 1 saying ‘rundll32.exe is trying to listen for connections from your own pc’.
I googled what rundll32 was and I dont understand why it needs to allow it if its so important so wondered if its malware or something.
I cant find this file when i search for it in task manager, or the control panel or under the startup, since others who ask similar questions online say to look for it there etc. Ive had internet issues since buying it, had to restart my computer to allow it to connect to my router, worked fine after that, so wondering if this is related and why other security software Ive used has not done the same thing. I assumed it would ask if I want to allow programs like bittorrent etc not ones from my own computer so Im confused.

Hi, just my opinion It seems there was a program needing access to a dll file.Seems normal to me.
Based on what you wrote it was internal communication, nothing going to the internet.

I don't use the avast firewall but it's probably meant to work this way. :) Firewalls such as comodo have a whitelist of "trusted" processes so you would likely never receive a popup from it. Hope this helps in some way.
