Avast Firewall + Windows Firewall ?

I installed Avast Internet Security , and it did not turn off Windows Firewall , why not ?

It is a independent firewall right ?

And if i turn off the Windows Firewall , will it be a problem ?

avast should have turned WF off, like all other security suites do. it won’t be a problem to turn windows firewall off by yourself, it is even recommended not to run more than 1 firewall at a time.

The avast firewall was designed to work together with the windows firewall so that is why windows firewall is not disabled but at the same time windows firwall does not need to be on so it is safe to disable the windows one if you wish.

what is stronger then ?

avast together with windows fireWALL , OR ONLY THE AVAST FIREWALL ?

oeps caps.

in comodo leaktest , avast firewall scored 20/340 , lol not really great but idk

with windows firewall also on ,it scored 10/340.

Just to save some resources i would disable windows firewall, the avast one is fine.
I wouldn’t trust another av company’s review’s as they want to promote themselves.

On my Desktop (see my signature) Windows Firewall which shares the same svchost.exe process with the Base Filtering Engine and Diagonotic Policy Services uses about 12MB of RAM

Windows Defender is a lot big resource hog than Windows Firewall, probably because it is doing more interacting with the rest of the system. It is using about 72MB of RAM.

If I was going to disable either one I would disable Windows Defender and leave Windows Firewall.

Though truth be told Windows Defender has caught and deleted some Malware that both AIS and SAS have missed. From the description of the items they did not appear to be false positives.

The Comodo leaktest is a HIPS test, and neither the Windows Firewall nor the Avast! Firewall has a HIPS. Avast! has a Behavior Shield and other shields perform many of the HIPS functions, but they are not included in a typical standalone firewall test. Comodo was selling D+ as the answer for quite a while, so everything was directed toward HIPS capabilities. Now, with automatic sandboxing in both Comodo and Avast!, and the well known difficulties users have with HIPS popups, there is some rethinking going on.
If you have the Windows 7 firewall, you can look up the rules that are actually being applied by going to Control Panel/Windows Firewall/Advanced Settings. There may be some rule conflicts, but the two firewalls should otherwise play together just fine.

But if i just use the Avast firewall , it is good too right.

And Avast firewall has also outbound firewall right ? , not only inbound.

Yes, the Avast! firewall is full featured but just does not include a HIPS. It is actually very easy to use and configure compared to the Windows firewall. I generally turn off the Windows firewall when using the Avast! firewall. Some leave it on while learning how to use the Avast! firewall, but that does not generally take very long. Others leave it on forever, since it does not interfere. If you want your rules to be followed, though, you need to turn off the Windows firewall.

ok thanks i know enough
