When I updated Windows some updates failed. The guy that does all my pc repair work said it was the avast firewall. He told me I would be better off with avast firewall set to “off” and the windows firewall set to “on”. Since, according to him, avast could affect the updates. I did have a lot of updates fail and caused a “1316 network error”.
avast firewall did NEVER interfere with any Windows Updates on my computers (XP and W7).
Did you try to get/find help for the specific update error? I mean, which is the KB being installed?
