AVAST! Firewall?

I keep reading about the AVAST! Firewall.
But when trying to find it in my installation folder I cannot find anything?

Could somebody shine some light in this (murky) situation?

Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)

AVAST! Internet Security is my current version (type).

Thought I saw it too while installing? (Could be wrong though).

The FW should be available in IS, did you install it…?

When opening AVAST! and looking under ‘Tools’ it is available. So yes.

My main question would be: How to configure the Firewall in such a manner that every program trying to connect to the internet, I would have to validate or refuse manually ?

Thanks for your help.

Thanks for your help, will go through the doc.

You’re welcome.

Well … still did not find my answer yet …

I’d like to end up with the following situation:
I, and only I, decide, manually, which application can have internet access.

So no, so called safe applications being allowed automatically, whatsoever.

More concerned about what’s going out, but then again, I might want to decide on what comes in manually as well.

Would that be possible?

Set the firewall rules to ask. Delete all current rules (application rules) and prepare to be annoyed

;D

Thanks.

Btw: Annoyment-level is very relative and easily managed.

Open your Avast Internet Security software. Click the icon showing a wrench and a screwdriver… Then click “Firewall”.Click the “Application rules” link at the bottom of the Avast Internet Security window. then Click “New Group”… Name the new group “AKRUTO”. Click “New application rule” and select the newly created group from the list… Select Akruto Sync (or any program that you would like to unblock) and click “Open”
