Avast for Vista

I downloaded and installed Avast on a 64bit Vista Computer yesterday, then I realized that there was a link for just this. The install was done so I left it because it seemed to work okay. Should I have downloaded from this link, or is they way I did it okay? To add, the install didn’t seem to go real smooth, but the pc has decent hardware, though has not been completely gone through. Thanks, badass

That link is fine, it’s coming directly from the Avast Website.

You can also check the digital signature of the file you downloaded to be sure.

No, I would like to know if there is a difference between the link I posted and the regular one? The one I posted is Vista specific.

There isn’t much of a difference other than the version, that link is not Vista specific but it downloads an old version of Avast (v12.3)

You can download the latest version from here: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup.exe

Got it, thank you very much!

If I download (v12.3) for Vista, will it not upgrade to whatever the newer one is? It would make more sense that it would not Upgrade, as I said, that Link has the word “Vista” right in it: “windows-vista-antivirus” is the extension of that link.

Just trying to understand if I should bother with that “windows-vista-antivirus” link or not. Perhaps it would be best to install from that Vista link and then let it Upgrade, I don’t know? Like I said, the Install did not go all that smoothly lol, and I was not doing much at the time.

Thanks so much for the support.
