Ok here’s the story I put my usb drive into my computer and avast pops up saying that it foundWin32: Trojan-gen[VB] virus. So I clicked “Move to Chest” as they recommended but everytime I click it says "Cannot process “F:\start.exe” file. It also gives me the options to move/rename or delete but it’s not letting me do it. Does anyone know why? Another thing can avast get the virus off my flash drive? PLEASE HELP!
are you able to e.g. rename the file manually?
I’m not sure if it will allow me to, if I can what should I change it to?
F:\start.exe.txt for instance or F:\start.old
try to rename the file to the name suggested by Tech and look if the original file (and the detection) reappears next time when you plug your usb stick in… look to the root of your fixed drives for autorun.inf file and you can also run HiJackThis and post the log here
