I have just updated to the new free 2016 version but cannot find where to create a custom scan anywhere. The virus chest is also missing.
I do not understand why these features are no longer available. Does this mean my previous custom scan settings still exist or are they cancelled? If they still exist how can I change them?
The options are still there.
It seems you have a crippled installation.
Perform a repair of avast.
If that doesn’t solve it, perform a clean installation.

Just found my own answer when a quick scan started. Found what I wanted on the scan details pop-up. The scheduling tab was missing but has now appeared. Thanks to those who replied.
