avast! Free antivirus 5.0 blocking POP3 mailing [SOLVED]

I updated it to 5.0, and now I get the message below:

-ERR: pop3login requires exactly two arguments.

Is there an way to stop this error from happening, besides disabling Mail Shield? Any configuration on avast! or in the mail client (Thunderbird, Outlook Express, and Outlook 2003 plus 2007)?

Thanks!

OS? Who is your ISP? Are you using encrypted (SSL) email. What is your TB setup-ports, full name with @ or not, secure connections never, … (many users here use it with and without gmail without issues). Mail Shield itself usually works fine out of the box.

I am actually working on the ISP, and I and some of our customers have the same issues. I changed for another AV for a while.

OS: Windows XP (all SP)
ISP: My company
SSL: Deactivated, both incoming and outgoing
Full name with @.
Never secure.
Default 110 and 25 ports.

I’ll try to use it with gmail for testing.

Thanks for the help.

Hi, again.

I tried using a gmail account with the Mail Shield, and it worked fine. But it uses an encryption the mails I’m having problems with doesn’t…

The problem certainly is the mail server, but I need help to identify what’s the source of the problem, so to speak.

Can you help me?

Doing some other tries, I’ve noticed that only incoming messages are being blocked.

The Mail Shield is set as default.

I saw what the problem was. In the SSL Accounts, under the Advanced Configuration for the Mail Shield, avast! was adding automatically the server with SSL Encryption at the door 995.

I changed it to my server’s configuration, and it worked fine.

Thanks for your help!
