I’ve been experiencing issues trying to get virus definitions updated to no avail. The very only way to get it updated is to completly uninstall and reinstall an offline installer. And even that lasts as long as a new definition is up. I don’t know what could be causing this, Avast notifies me of new definitions available but it doesn’t update it.
If you wonder, the only change I’ve made is how I connect to Internet. I had to move to a place where there’s no posibility to get fiber so the only way to get connected is through wireless 5G. Yeah, a phone connection using a dedicated router. It sucks but I got no other option.
Nones, there’s no other way for me to update definitions other than doing a complete uninstall and reinstall using an offline installer. That one ain’t fun.
I really need help, or I’m gonna have to resort to other free antivirus solutions that doesn’t give me this kind of issues.
To be fair, i’m paraphrasing what I’ve seen from other users on here which could be speculation for all I know. I never saw that from Avast themselves or an Avast team member. But given our experience with the streaming updates a couple of days ago, it wouldn’t surprise me if that’s the case.
My streaming updates are fine and have been since the issue two days ago, or at least they have been any time I have curiously checked. I guess it’s possible they stopped working while I was sleeping and started working again when I have been awake. But I think that’s a separate issue from what Nacross is experiencing here.
Correct. I got no clue how this happens. Windows, games (and their distribution platforms) and several random softare updates without problems.
This may be related to how I connect to Internet, though I can’t tell if it’s my provider or my router. Even then, how it is that Avast is the only software refusing to update?
Please, Avast Team, look into this and fix your update system.
It’s a shame that Avast Team haven’t reached here as of time of writing this post. Looks like I’m really gonna have to look for other competing alternatives.
Try to speak directly on Avast support.
Because here at the forum I don’t know if the Avast team is reading what we say, usually comes the more moderators so far have not appeared
