I installed Avast Free Antivirus (which I used several years ago) and have just spent two hours trying to figure out why Outlook on Windows quit syncing emails with none Microsoft emails: gmail, mac, etc. As soon as I uninstalled Avast, Outlook performed as normal.
Whatever options are set in Avast that caused this, the user needs to be warned upon installation.

Could you please help us with the investigation by providing some data?
Please enable debug logging in Avast (Menu > Settings > General > Troubleshooting > Enable debug logging)
Reproduce the issue (try to sync messages in Outlook).
Create a support package (https://support.avast.com/en-eu/article/Submit-support-file) and post the ID here.
