i have this weird problem you can easily reproduce. If i try to access the IMAP4 service on mu provider, Avast Mail shield somehow change my answer from server. Example with the real host:
telnet mail.supremecluster.com 143
With Avast shield ON i get “OK POP3” incorrect answer. If i disable Mail Shield i get the correct “OK IMAP4”.
I had this problem with an early version so i’ve upgraded to v6.0.1000 and i still have this problem. I went to Expert settings and i defined supremecluster.com in SSL connections, still same result.
So to summarize, with Mail Shield ON i get “OK POP3” with the shild off i get “OM IMAP4”. Identical environment.
