Hi Guys,

I couldnt able to update Avast Free Antivirus , it doesnt load the Process even though it is allowed to access Internet via Firewall ?

  • Which version of Avast Free…?
  • OS…? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP/Build…?)
  • Other security related software installed…?
  • Which AV(s) did you use before Avast…?

  1. Version: 18.7.2354 (build 18.7.4041.389)

  2. Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit

  3. No (Windows Defender is already there)

  4. I used Free Versions only

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AV(s)…!!
→ https://support.avast.com/article/11/

Then:

  1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

I have reinstalled and now it looks fine. Lets see what happens by next updates for both VPS & Program.

Same happened to me, but when I removed previous antivirus remaining files than It works correctly as @Asyn suggested.

Ok. But I have done this procedure 2nd time now.
