Hello people!
Since hardware upgrade, Windows guests refuse to work in VirtualBox, they won’t even install: BSOD occurs during the installation process. Hardware virtualization is enabled in BIOS. Virtualization is also enabled in Avast (Troubleshooting section). I tried to change options in VirtualBox (processors, acceleration, and so on), but it didn’t help.
The same software configuration worked on my previous computer with A10-7860K.
Linux Guests (Mint, Fedora, OpenSUSE, and Manjaro) work fine though.
The problem was solved by uninstalling Avast and installing Kaspersky Free AV instead, but I like Avast, I’ve been using it for 6+ years.
P.S. Avast also caused problems with qBittorrent and eMule: they won’t respond when you close them, then won’t even close in Task Manager, “taskkill“ won’t stop them either, only Log off helps:(
