I have users that using unmanaged machines for external access. After an update, the page no longer loads unless they stop the web shield. Is there a way I can look at logs to see what is causing the issue?
Let them perform a clean installation with the latest avast version (2294)
I can reproduce it and I installed avast free today. I enable debug logs but I don’t see any logs being generated either.
What OS/SP ?
What exact version of avast ?
Is there any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there)
What exactly do you mean with “unmanaged” ?
What OS/SP ? Win 10
What exact version of avast ? 17.4.2294
Is there any other security (related) software installed ? (or was there) none besides avast
What exactly do you mean with “unmanaged” ?non company owned machines.
Eddie, is there a location where I can look at avast logs to tell me why avast blocking the site? I enabled debug logging but don’t see any log directories
What is the URL that is not loading? Is there any popup (eg. “Infection blocked”)?
Hi Honzaz,
The page will sit on the white screen and continue to spin. When you stop the browser(press x), you can see that it has populated some of the site.
This is the URL https://access.corp.saint-lukes.org/
This is with the IE browser
Thanks,
Jack
Hm… without a detection popup, this is not something we at viruslab can fix
Btw I can view the login page with Firefox, Egde, even with IE. I am on Win 10 too.
Or are you talking not about the login screen, but about what happens after you (try to) log in?
Win 10 (creators update), avast 2294.
No problem opening the site with Opera 44.0.2510.1218 (PGO) when webshield is disabled.
When enabled no site at all is loading.
Just the viewing the login screen in general. If I stop the web shield, the page is visible and loads.
Is there a log or something that I can view to see why?
I only see the issue in IE and the users as well. Most including myself are on win 10 and version 17.4.2294 (build 17.4.3482.0)
