Avast! Free Ed: Keyboard Problems

I am having troubles with my keyboard not working after an Avast update is installed during boot up. I have to turn the computer off and on again for the keyboard to work or reinstall the keyboard if I don’t turn the computer off/on.

I am running the free personal edition of Avast on a eMachines with Athlon processor, Windows XP. The keyboard is a Logitech with a round connector (not USB).

Any suggestions on what may be causing this problem?? :-\

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I had the same problem. It is due to the fact that the drivers on the XP-installation-cd get easily broken when some update of a random program on the pc is performed.
Best and easy solution: go to the Logitech site and download the latest driver for your keyboard.

You could also try reinstalling the driver if you still have the driver installation CD that came with the keyboard
