Avast Free Antivirus 2015 just identified League of Legends Patcher as a virus and broke it. I think it quarantined the file and now the game won’t launch beyond the desktop interface. I’m running a repair on the game but it takes ages to complete so I’d very much prefer not having to do it again.
Is there any way I can prevent this from happening again?

Every single time I’ve tried doing anything with Avast on this matter, be it posting this thread, trying to submit that false positive via the link you posted or using the feedback form, I’ve gotten one error or another. Even trying to get the voiced captcha failed several times before I got it to work.
Not impressed so far.
