[Avast Free] File check for updated game make them unable to run until a reboot

Hi,

I have some game which are self updated from time to time and when Avast check the binary for virus, it prevent the game from running after the scan, then it is impossible to launch the game AT ALL until I reboot my computer, it happened today for instance with Steam/Infinitode2, scan, ok no virus (no surprise), then game is “started” but process stay stuck doing nothing (System Informer show process using less than 1% CPU but hard to know why it doesn’t actually run). Looks like process doesn’t even go further than spawning by OS kernel, as for instance no new log entry is added in the game logfile.

This is quite a good example of too much security become a huge inconvenience unfortunately.

It’s also happened pretty much all the time using Godot Engine based games for new game Avast doesn’t know nothing about.

Addition: it’s even worth than, some program doesn’t start after that, for instance Krita, process is also launched but stay stuck. It is completely unrelated but still it failed.
And by the way, Steam itself also go stuck the same way. All sub processes are launched, but no windows popped up, clicking on the launch bar icon does nothing.

OS: windows 10 Pro
Avast free 24.7.6124 (build 24.7.9311.860) virus def : 240826-4

Hope this will be addressed soon.

Regards.
