I have installed avast free and then the firewall component, and it works. I though the firewall component was part of the paid version.
Is a bug or the firewall is free? which components are free and which ones are paid?
Probably a bug, there’s no FW in the free version.
I have installed it using the component section of the settings, now is up and running and I have the free version.
Sorry, no idea what’s going on. As said, most probably a bug.
Same with my AV. Somehow i got firewall, secure DNS and other premium components on my free avast and they’re working.

I suspect that you may find after 30 days (standard trial period) you may well get something to pay or to revert to the free version.
I wonder what they had in their coffee this morning at avast HQ.
