Hello all
Well… it’s difficult for me (and perhaps for a majority of people in France) because my internet connection is via a “Box” (in my case a FreeBox) and in that case the DNS is mandatory the one of the box in my LAN (which is 192.168.1.254).
My FreeBox (as many other Boxes) acts as a DNS server, and if I want to use another DNS server I receive a message from my provider telling that I must use its DNS.
Furthermore, my LAN is configured with fixed IPs (personal choice) and I can’t at all change the DNS server.
But there’s something that disturbs me: previous versions of Avast free antivirus offline installer (at least version 17.1, but probably versions 17.2 and 17.3) just installed fine without any error. I started encountering errors when trying to install version 17.4, and it goes on with versions 17.5, 17.6 and 17.7.
So the only way to install Avast Free antivirus offline is to use an “old” version (17.1, which I keep in safe place) and install it on my computer. It installs just fine, and after connecting my computer to internet (once I have an antivirus up and running) it updates like a charm to version 17.7.
Is there a way to ask Avast have a look at this problem?
