Hi.

Two questions about Avast Free Mobile Security:

  1. Why is the File Shield disabled by default and is it safer to turn it on?

  2. Is it OK to use ‘Avast Free Mobile Security’ and ‘Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Mobile’ simultaneously?

Hi,

  1. There was a feeling that this shield consumes too much battery/CPU to be turned on by default. But pretty much everyone I know have it on (at least the scan-on-write option) and it’s just fine for them.

  2. I didn’t try it, but it should be more or less fine I guess (meaning it shouldn’t break your OS running those two simultaneously :)).

I have them both. Although only avast! is resident (runs in background).

I decided to run them both simultaneously in the background. It would be interesting to hear from anyone who has tried this long term to see if it slows down the system.
