hi,wonder why avast free is amrking wintools net pro as potentially unsafe
Can you submit the file to www.virustotal.com and check?
Which is the virus name? Is it a PUP (potencial unwanted program)?
the program is potentially unsafe and is sandboxed right away
reanalized 0/42 http://www.virustotal.com/file-scan/report.html?id=863ac69d7c1983edc12d88029df0906d157de328ee9e86eb293a66a94fdf5ac5-1309347626
You can run it outside of the automatic sandbox.
File Shield > Advanced Settings > Autosandbox (make an exception).
so is a f/p from avast?
No it isn’t a false positive otherwise it would have been detected by the main file system shield.
This is what actually calls the autosandbox after its scan, it uses emulation and other checks on a file and if there is any suspicion, file not digitally signed, its location, what it does in the emulation, etc. etc.
What it is saying is that you should exercise care and making a suggestion “You are opening an application that may be potentially unsafe.”
If you know the application are sure that it is safe (e.g. you have been using it for some time, etc.), then you can override the suggestion and have avast Open normally and check the Remember my answer for this program, and that is the last time you will have challenged in this way.
So essentially there aren’t any false positives in the autosandbox.
ok thanks a lot for the explanation
You’re welcome.
