Free avast not shutting down windows 10 based laptops and PC’S after automatic scan
You can only shut down by using a scheduled scan
It is setup to run a scheduled scan
I have the software scheduled to do a full system scan and to shut down the computer after scan completed. This all started 3 weeks ago with the recent 2 upgraded versions of avast free. It was shutting my laptops off after the scheduled weekly scan before those upgrades.
Me having this issue too
I have suffered with this on Windows 7 SP1 as well. I have reported as a problem on feedback.
me too… Win 10 after recent update(will not shut system down after scan even though shut down is selected on schedule menu)
Might be a bug, wait for one of the devs and/or submit a ticket: https://support.avast.com/support/tickets/new
Perhaps the most important information is missing…
What exact version of avast ?
AIS 11.2.2262
Avast Free version 11.2.2262
I am having this very same issue, with this very same version of avast. On my Windows 7 SP1 desktop.
I would be willing to take the free upgrade to 10 if this would fix the issue. There is nothing more annoying than waking up to a computer that couldn’t shut itself off.
I have also been having the same problem on Windows 7, since an update a few weeks ago. I temporarily removed Avast and installed AVG, which shuts down the system with no problem. I have now reinstalled Avast from scratch, and it still won’t shut down the system.
Is a solution to this problem likely to be found, or will the problem simply be ignored?
Is it possible to download an earlier version of Avast to work around the problem?
thank you for the reports - this issue has been confirmed by dev (AV-9988). Fixed in recent Beta builds. It might be very useful if you can confirm that it fixes your cases. https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=187288.0
