Avast Free only giving me 30 days before my free licence expires!.

I just downloaded the latest version of avast free and and upon installing it said i could use it straight away so i did and registered with my email. Upon going to my email i activated it and then looked at my licence and its only given me 30 days of the free product?. So how do i activate the 12 months?, what good is 30 days ?.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AV(s)…!!

Then:

  1. Download Avast Free Antivirus: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_free_antivirus_setup_offline.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
