I have tried to find information on how to set up Avast! Free together with Outlook 2010 as an email client together with Gmail using IMAP.
However in one post, there was a video telling me to clear the SSL/TLS server settings normally used when configuring Outlook with Gmail. That is, instead of the usual setting for incoming mail: 993 and SSL, and for outgoing mail: 587 and TLS, I was adviced to click “None”, as it was argued that you could not both use SSL with Avast! AND Outlook at the same time. That did NOT worked for me. BUT when keeping the incoming server entry in Outlook set to 993 and using SSL, and doing the same in Avast, it worked just fine…
Is there a more official manual or tutorial about how to properly set up Outlook 2010 together with Gmail/IMAP and Avast! Free???
