Avast Free: possible false positive?

Hi,

My avast antivirus updated today and for some reason it is now putting files from attkpowerloader (http://www.attkpowerloader.com/attk.html) into the virus chest. I scanned the files and avast said it was clean, but when i run it, it goes straight to the virus chest. I have been using the application for my game for about a year now. How do i submit it for checking?

report it here http://www.avast.com/contact-form.php
you may add a link to this topic in case they reply here

I tried to sent the file but i always end up in the “No Data Received” of my browser, chrome, after it got to 100%. :frowning:

How do I know they got the file?

try mail
send to virus@avast.com in a password protected zip file
mail subject: false positive
zip password: infected

ok, i sent the file. hope they get it.

thanks!

What’s that link? It’s saying “Site not currently available”.

By the way, i got an reply to my email saying:

“In order to better assist you we have implemented a new support/customer care system. We therefore kindly request that you visit http://www.avast.com/support avast! Customer and Technical Support and resubmit your question.”

???

It will be unblocked.

So its confirmed false positive?

Thanks for the update, ill wait for the next version.

avast virus definitions updated today but it is still blocking the file. it saying its a filerep malware.

Hello,
it seems avast detects those files as Evo-gen. Can you send us those files please?

Hi Sirmer,

I submitted it using the contact, and through email but it looks like you guys didnt receive it so I sent the file avast put in the virus chest using the “submit to virus lab” option and added a link to this post. Hopefully it gets sent in the next update.
