Avast Free suddenly stopped doing my scheduled scans

Have used Avast Free for Windows on my laptop for some years but cannot understand why it no longer scans as I have not altered anything. I have therefore been having to do manual scans. I use Windows 10 and have also just updated to the latest update of Avast thinking that might solve the problem but it hasn’t. Please can anyone suggest how I can remedy this? Should I uninstall it completely and then reinstall?

Incidentally, is there a detailed instruction page how to set scheduled scans correctly? I remember initially it was not obvious - but it did work until recently.

Thank you

I’ve seen some posts where the scheduled scan does not take place at the time/date that it is set to, so I can’t promise it will work.
Could be that the problem is solved in the latest beta version.

Thanks Eddy, have checked yet again that my settings are in order and still no scheduled scans being done. Will uninstall and try another AV.

why not use screensaver scan instead of scheduled?

anyway, all AV have realtime protection, meaning evrything that goes on in your computer when on is checked by avast in realtime
