I have been harassing Comcast for not delivering the internet speed promised (30-50Mbps) with my account plan. I came across an article on slow speed fixes that suggested that the firewall or antivirus program could be slowing the download and upload speeds.
With Avast shields all running the best I can get for download speed is 12-14 Mbps. When I disable Avast my download speed zooms to 45-53 Mbps. I very much like all the features of Avast and it has proven to be very effective over the years, but the suppression of internet speed is unacceptable.
Does anyone share my experience and is there a workaround that does not leave one vulnerable to malware?
