Where are my scan logs in the free version. I have searchrd for txt and log files to no avail…I just had to do a boot time scan and noticed that several files were corrupt etc. I need to read this log file to see what is going on.
Hey frankraney,
Avast! scanlogs are located in scan for virus.
I do not have that screen anywhere…I am using the free version, does that mater…I am using win 10. I know they used to be stored in files I could find with a search, like “boot scan log”
No.You are running an old version. You have to upgrade to 12.3.2280 to do that. Here is the link:https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=189836.0
I just upgraded and still do not see the logs
Post a screenshot of scan for viruses UI.
Avast - Scan - Scan for virusus - Scan history.
Greetz, Red.
There is no scan history. If I select scan my option is SCAN…What I am lookin for, again is the boot time scan log…
You won’t see any information in the Scan History as the Boot Time scan isn’t covered, for a pretty good reason the boot time scan is running before any avastUI elements are up and running.
The file name from memory is aswboot.txt I can’t recall its exact location but I believe it is either in the C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report or C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\log folder.
nope, it is there. and i searched my computer for that name and nothing…I do know, in older versions the boot time scan was loged and you could look at it. I seen part of the screen as it was checking, and there are things I need to fix, that it did not. And I want to know what it found and fixed…
Again, I do not have a screen that looks like that. I have no scan settings, etc.
here are two more shots of my screen one just after starting the app and the other after selecting Scan at the top…
that one was AFTER here is the before…
and oh yes, I even purchased the app and no longer have the free, but no change. I now have 12.3.2280
Click on Scan for Viruses to see the screenshot I posted.
If you re-read the instructions originally posted by Red, that’s exactly what he asked you to do:
