Hello everyone, is Avast Free effective against ransoware?
In addition to the detection of malicious files, behavioral analysis in case a malicious file is not recognized and then executed is able to crypt the files before the behavioral analysis blocks the app and make any rollback?
Gardening videos on YouTube of Avast Free against ransoware have almost all failed, in the sense that behavioral analysis blocks the ransoware when it is too late and the files are compromised, unlike for example Kaspersky Free that blocks the ransoware before it damages the files.
On this point I’m a little dubious about using Avast Free, after watching the videos of the tests on YouTube on this subject.
However, I refer to behavioral analysis, in the sense that if Avast Free passes a zero-day attack that is not recognized in the detection phase, if you notice “strange” actions, the behavioral analysis should block it. But from the videos the ransoware are blocked after the files are damaged, while for example Kaspersky Free that has no Ransoware shield but behavioral analysis blocks the ransoware before they do damage or anyway with ability to roll back the files.
Do you confirm that the behavioral analysis of Avast Free is effective against ransom and blocks it before the files are damaged?
