I’m wondering if there is any conflict as there seems to be some overlap, maybe in antispyware. And do firewalls that have HIPS conflict at all with Avast Free? Should I be going for a more basic version of either of these? (Please do not suggest windows firewall).
Running Win7Pro 64bit (I know OA is not yet 64bit compatible but will be very shortly).
The integration of A2 with OA is configured so as not to interfere with on-access scanners like Avast! Prevx also runs very well with both; yet another AV/AM that purposely avoids contention. Not something to do without local knowledge, though. Or with most suites.
I have been using Outpost firewall pro ans avast from some years an no real issues. Nothing has changed with avast 5.0 and outpost firewall pro 2009, they both work fine together. Outpost should detect avast and disable its own anti-spyware module for compatibility.
Outpost did not disable its spyware module. I currently have disabled it, and web shield, manually as I am having some internet access issues that I’m still troubleshooting.
It was a typical “File not Found” page in Fx. But I have switched over to Online Armor Free to give it a go and am having better results. I tend to like the interface better as well.
