I have just installed avast free edition. does this have a firewall and antispyware, or do i have to download seperate programs?
does avast have a spyware scan? maybe its part of the main scan?
is there an avast firewall? if so how can i access it?

avast incorporates anti-spyware scanning but it isn’t a firewall.
I would say there are specialist anti-spyware programs that increase overall protection.
SUPERantispyware On-Demand only in free version.
MalwareBytes Anti-Malware, On-Demand only in free version http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/malwarebytes/mbam-setup.exe, right click on the link and select Save As or Save File (As depending on your browser), save it to a location where you can find it easily later.
I don’t have any need for extra anti-spyware protection. avast! is doing a fine job. But ppl usually install so many anti-something tools it would really be better to just get infected by spyware anyway lol
