Avast Full Scan Discovered Win32:Malware-gen in svchost.eve

Hello,

I just did a full scan of my laptop and avast reported that I had one infected file.

Filename: “C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Windows\svchost.exe”
Severity: High
Status: Threat:Win32:Malware-gen

I tried moving it to the chest, but I got the result: “Error: The specified file is read only (6009)”

How do I go about getting rid of this malware?

For anything that can’t be removed, unknown, suspicious report files to avast lab from your avast antivirus itself
and oh svchost.exe are windows system files that is why it says “error read only”. will likely cause system crash if tried forceful delete or move. if you wanna give it a shot manualy then open task manager and see those svchost right click on each of them and " Go to services" check anything suspicious if and only if then end process tree but then again becareful because those are system process. I would reinstall windows or prepare backup. I am not saying this is it i don’t have perfect knowledge let us know if you find anything about it

follow the guide and attach…not copy and paste, the requested logs.

AdwCleaner
Malwarebytes
OTL
aswMBR

when done a removal specialist will be notified and check your logs

I ran Malwarebytes and it got rid of some malware. When I re-ran avast on the infected file, avast found no viruses. I guess Malwarebytes solved my problem. Thanks for the responses and I’ll make sure I gather those logs first next time before I post.

Thanks again!
