Hello, I install Avast in a computer that has Windows Xp 32 bit, this computer does not have internet connection and after install, and reboot the computer Avast get deadlock, anything from Avast doesn’t responde, I think this happen because Avast is trying to connect to internet and this computer does not have internet connection, can somebody help me with this issue?, thanks in advance.
I am not a nutcase but if you don’t have internet how did you get avast in the first case. And you only need avast if you use the net or file share with someone who does. I would be wary of someone I don’t know shares files with me. And, yes you need the internet so avast will update properly. Also, did you get the entire avast software or are you missing some of the files that come with avast.
Weird and odd how I respond to a response but I must say.
Anti Virus software is good to have whether connected to the internet or not as I have had avast catch files when trying to install store bought games…
AND did you ever stop to think possibly that he is on a different computer transferring from a memory stick???
Silly, Think a little more in-dept.
Avast has not locked on me yet and I have it installed on a non internet computer…
perhaps his advice was right and it wasn’t installed properly because even without the internet the program will work properly just without updates
Maybe your system resources are so low"System requirement issues"
OR may you have malwares disable avast.
Can you tell us your system specifications “cpu, ram, hard disk free space”
The computer has 1 GB of RAM memory, Intel Proccesor 2.4 MHz, Hard Disk 80 GB, I download Avast free antivirus and also the update file from Avast Website, Windows Xp 32 bit require 192 MB of RAM memory to run, what’s wrong?, thanks in advance.
@ nadiepornadie,
Did you have any previous antivirus or firewall or other security software on this machine in the past? If so, how did you remove it? Sometimes remnants of security software can cause issues.
Did you use a USB flash drive/stick on this machine from another machine?
What version of Avast are you using? 5.0.677 is the current version.
What product of Avast are you using? Free, Pro?
I just need to get more information about your system so that I get help you better. Thank you.
