I Just noticed that avast’s "win32:Trojan-gen{other} is listed amongs the top 10 viruses detected on www.virustotal.com, thats a sign that Avast is improving it’s detection is is finaly catching up with the other AV’s
thats nice!!!go alwil!!!i think alwil will have improved its detection(its detection is very gd now but it will be improved as alwil never stops geting better) until next year…
Well generic signatures are more likely to catch more than a single signature, hence a greater number of detections than a single specific variant signature. You can see a similar indication in the others in the top 10.
Actually Win32:Trojan-gen detections aren’t generic. They are generic. This means malware detection without any specific detection name. Most probably some low threat, nothing significant. Major malware is usually detected with proper naming scheme.
This is why my friends told me about 3 years ago to choose Avast Anti-Virus Software, because they knew Avast will improved the detections rate over years and toward the future by giving Avast a chance to grow beyond this great improvement.
Just remember all Anti-Virus company who created they software are not and aways 100% perfect, as long and the company and their team staff really work together to make the software really works the way it should be.
The best I’ve seen over the years and you don’t get to see very many support forum website like Avast, who can help others to fix their problems and I’ve see so many Nortons user came to Avast because they heard from other people about their improvement on the Avast product.
I am happy to see Avast is growing stronger toward their detection rate and it getting better each day, and it does take time to become very popular by telling more people out there to give Avast ago and see how this product really suit you.
Keep up the great work Avast and don’t give up cause more and more people will come to you.
