Avast gone need help

Computor completely died …have lost my licence even.
had avast 8.0.1489
virus def 130515-1
How can i get started.Can download program but no licence to get started

You can modify your first post so that information is no longer present.

Did your computer completely die, as in will not even turn on? Or it cannot find the operating system and only the vendor start-up page window is displaying? The former means your system is passing the hardware POST test and you have a video display, but the boot hand-off to the operating system is not occurring, possibly because the hard drive died; but the latter means that either POST has failed or or your video card or monitor is dead, or no power from your psu (power supply unit), which would mean no power light would show on the power button.

It is likely a hardware issue that needs to be resolved first before considering whether you need to have your license re-sent to your email address as you need a stable and running system to install and run avast!, or any other program, for that matter.

Gday mchain
iT just had the blue screen and saying the hard drive was gone and a few other things.Did F12 to reboot but kept going back to same screen.Put in an old dell reboot CD and done that.
Took computor to a repairer to get updates and for it to recognise connections for internet.
Thats basically where i’m at.We are back onto our satellite broadband but no firewall etc.

Which avast! did you purchase…?? (Pro/IS/Premier)

problem is i dont know asyn.I lost everything .It could be the pro.
I tried saving these avast programs [as above] and it didnt work either.Something about not a system 32 something.
Have been able to get the licence just need to download the program

  1. Download avast! Pro Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_pro_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
