Avast had to restart for definition update?

I clicked “update engine and virus definitions” twice. The first time it said there were no updates and the second time it said I had to restart my computer for it to update. I then did and the current version is 130810-1. Has this happened to anyone else?

the second time it said I had to restart my computer for it to update.
did avast say......maybe there was a update on the virus engine why do you worry about a restart ???

All it said was I had to restart, not what kind of update.

I just recently heard of fake Avast viruses so yeah…

Can you confirm that version is the latest for Avast IS?

If you mean 130810-1, yes.
The latest program version is 8.0.1489.

All it said was I had to restart, not what kind of update.
and i am telling you that a update to the virus engine could be the reason for a restart.......if it was avast that told you to do the restart? then i Guess others should have seen the same Message? ...... not me since i am on a ipad ;)

Virus Update History http://www.avast.com/en-no/virus-update-history
the site sometimes is not updated as the AV is (as you see it is behind at the moment) as releasing New signatures have higher priority then updating the website
