Since yestrday when I reopend my laptop and as soon I connected on internet my whole pc hangs and not even ctrl+alt_del working. I cheked several times and came to conclusion that as soon as I connect to intrenet vista hangs, then I disable the avast and restat the PC its working fine. Anything that I can chek in avast so that it works properly. I have avast 4 free ver and using it more than a year till I face prb yestrday.

always run update before scan so you have latest database
click the remove selected button to quarantine anything found
if anything is found you may post the scan log here
Nope no malware, I chekd everything, some issue with avast, when I disble avast the pc runs fine.
and you have removed any previous installed antivirus or antivirus that was delivered with the machine when new ?
and you have run a removal tool for those programs removed so all traces are gone ? if not you find it here http://uninstallers.blogspot.com/

I have been using this machine for last one year without any problem since avast issue came up. I formated this machine when bought and the only AV i installed was avast and it was working fine. Dont know as soon as wifi or ethernet cable is pluged and internet connectivity is up system hangs. I have to stop all services of avast and now installed another av provided on cd with the system due to no choice. I didnt removed avast yet still trying to find the problem.
