Avast hardened mode & Web Protection Component

I am a basic level pc user just started using hardened aggressive mode in Avast 17 but note it uses cloud whitelist , does this mean its effective only when internet is runnning ? and does it depend on having avast Web Protection component on ? Ive always used Mbam real time web Protection & prefer not to have both Avast & Mbam Web components running same time ie if it slows webpage access. Advice appreciated

I understand Cybercapture is totally dependent on Web shield being on , but presume Web shield not required for hardened mode ? Advice appreciated
