avast! has 100% detection of the polymorphic virus Win32:Polipos

avast! is one of a few scanners that are able to detect all test samples of Win32:Polipos virus, this test was made by AV-Test.org test but it’s in German.

This virus is a real computer virus, it’s dangerous and hard to disinfect, you are likely to reinstall Windows or restore it from a backup if you get infacted.

Cheers TAP gives you a comfortable feeling ;D

Thanks for that information, TAP!

We’re being complaining about detection rates last months… speed of adding signatures, submition files, etc.
Now we must recognize the good and fast work here. It’s fair.
Thanks virus analyst (maybe Karel 8)).

Igor in this case…
Work well done.

One important aspect:
As per the review, Dr Web had an update on 21st April while Trend Micro/AVG gave it on 26/27 April.
When did avast give the update to us ? ???

28.04.2006 - 0617-3

I think Win32:Polip virus was added on 24/04/2006 - VPS: 0617-0 or 26/04/2006 - VPS: 0617-2

you’re right ;D
it’s 26.04.2006 - 0617-2 :-[

Actually, the detection was added in 0617-1 (released one or two hours after 0617-0) - only the name appeared in the next one.

He’s right. Still have update notification mail message in my inbox. ;D

25.4. 13:10 … that beats most of other AVs:)
