Avast has installed safezone browser on my computer without my approval, even though it was unticked during custom installation.

Here is my feedback: Because of this unwanted installation of your safezone browser, I am going to remove Avast from all the computers that I own and I will do so for my friends and family and others that will ask about AV recommendation.

You said in that this silent unapproved install was removed in 2016 but you lied.

Sounds to me that you had a old avast version installed.

Using custom install would have made avoiding anything you didn’t want very easy.

The OP reported having used the custom install.

So there appears to be something else going on, what that might be I have no idea. I have never received any avast module which I have unchecked in a custom install. I do uncheck most modules/components other than the shields and software updater, image of last time I used the custom install.

I like David have never seen it happen if unchecked during the install.

Do you please still have the installation? We could investigate the logs. This is definitely not an intention to install SafeZone Browser if you unchecked it in installation…

Performed a couple of clean, custom installations of the latest stable release on a clean installation of W10 and never was the SZB installed after unticking it.
