Avast has recently failed to scan my K-Lite package

Hello All.

I have had both free Avast and K-Lite for years and Avast has never had a problem with the latter program. Unfortunately, in the last few months both scheduled and manual scans of the main K-lite folder turns up the message, “Some files could not be scanned”. In addition in the scan history the explanation is given as, “Error: Archive is password protected (42056)”. If, however, I manually scan simultaneously the five subfolders inside the main folder the scan completes successfully and generates the expected message, “No threat found”.

So, whilst Avast has no problem with the five subfolders and their contents, it is unable now - after years without a problem - to see past the main containing folder, which is certainly NOT password protected. I can only assume that the problem originated in a recent Avast upgrade as nothing has changed with the K-Lite pack.

Has anyone else encountered something like this?

Tenho encontrado sistematicamente o mesmo problema (Erro: o arquivo é protegido por senha (42056)).

Acho muito estranha essa situação, que piora quando no site do Avast é dada uma explicação furtiva dizendo que arquivos que não podem ser escaneados são inertes e que não tem vírus. Por tudo o que já pesquisei é um bug na última versão do Avast que está fora de controle.

Inaceitável é o usuário conviver com esta situação que desafia o limite da capacidade da equipe que desenvolve o software.
