Basically wondering what is the difference between both and which one offers the best protection possible
I searched the forum for my answer but didn’t find much–unless i missed it, if i missed it, i’m sorry
I doubt you will find much as they really aren’t totally the same MSE doesn’t offer the same level of configuration or specific shields, web shield, network shield, IM shield, P2P shield, etc.
Since they shouldn’t be run together it is somewhat difficult to do a direct comparison.
What you need to do is a google search on Microsoft Security essentials functions, or something like that.

most likely though i’ll be happily using Avast again shortly and staying with it…just decided to give MS security Essentials a try, but on boot up it’s not that great, takes at least a minute for it to load
