I have a question about Avast Home and Online Armor Free, but i whas here a long time not active on this Forum.
So are this Topic here on the right place?
I look this evening for reactions.
Welcome back! ![]()
And your question is what? If they work together?
I had it along with AVAST HOME and it worked fine. But I switched to Comodo FW because I think it’s superior CONTRARY to MATOUSEC’s beliefs. 8)
I buy a second PC and i need a Firewall and a Free Antivirus Program.
So i try Anvira Antivirr Personal but these scanned not me email. :![]()
A use Avast for a few jears and i don"t forget it,
The fact that i am a Beta user of Online Armor bring me return to Avast Home.
I have Avast not yet installed becourse i need some Info.
Are there complains about the combination Avast Home an Online Armor?
And how many MB"s are Avast Home by installing this AV program? Its importend!
And Comodo are better than OA? ???
I see a Poll on the WildersForum and Online Armor do it better than Comodo. ;D
So far me questions and comment.
I use Avast! with OA3 on two Vista computers since last June. Also have used the free version on XP. Latest public beta is recommended, since OA is about ready to release it (as you know)… Comodo runs fine with Avat! too, and many Comodo users select Avast! instead of the CIS AV. I used Comodo and Avast! for about a year, and then switched. Which you use is really a matter of how it works for you-I prefer OA to Comodo, but if you go read both sites forums you can find some more information, and can also try each to see which you are more comfortable with. Both are very good firewall/HIPS programs, but the features and look/feel are a bit different, so one may fit you better than the other.
sded write:Comodo users select Avast! instead of the CIS AV. ???
And thats the point,i don"t need a Firewall whit build in a AV program.
Or i must you don"t understand sded?
I use the old fasion COMODO 2.4 and i found it better than version 3 and further versions.
Now read i on the Online Armor Fora that many people farewell say to Comodo and use now OA Free.
Whitout A-V.
On this moment version 3.1.0.25 who running very good,en 100% Sthealt!!
The Leaktest are olso much better than many Pay Firewalls.
If somebody say use OA and Avast Home as a combination witch no high CPU than i am first to Enter Avast Home.
I need a very smooth running combination and therefore ask i how big are Avast installed and running on me PC?
A other example:
Adobe Reader big 100 MB?
Foxit Reader do the same whit 4 MB.
I use on this moment this software, and i have really the intention to use Avast Home.
The only problem with your combination for a new computer is that the CFP 3.0.25 is no longer supported or improved. You can install just the firewall and HIPS for the 3.8 series, but that effort still seems to be directed at finishing the AV and adding new features to the suite, not fixing the problems with the firewall/HIPS and improving it. Many are installing just the firewall/HIPS of 3.8 and using Avast! as their AV, however. I have attached a Task Manager run to give you and ideas of how big Avast! and OA are on a VIsta computer. Comodo users on another forum have produced similar data that shows Comodo is comparable in resource usage to OA. So either should work for you and work well with Avast!. OA is concentrating on the firewall/HIPS, Comodo is concentrating on other things at the moment, but both are already very good firewall/HIPS-just depends on the features you find most valuable. And perhaps take a look at their respective forums to get a feel for their current status, since they are both at/near new releases.
sded i have no new computer but a old one,5 jears old but running well.
The fact that i am OA Beta tester are and looking for a new AV program that a good combination are
whit Online Armor did me think on Avast Home.
I read your story and i think thats now O.K.
This week have i time to do it,and thanks for your explain.
So Online Armor + Avast Home. ;D
I let you now how running it,
Thanks.
Ah, I saw your mention of a second computer and thought it might be a new one.
I also run OA3 free and Avast! 4.8 on a backup 6 year old Toshiba laptop under XP and that works very well too. Come back here to the forum if you have any problems or questions.
OA free is better and simpler than Comodo. Comodo are making Firewalls for aliens and super technical people not for normal users . So you have to decide which fits to your needs
Thanks for all sded, and i have forgotten to say that i use Windows XP Pro and XP Home.
I am no Vista Fan or of the coming Windows 7,becouse i found every place whit me eyes close in XP.
I have once Vista on a new PC,but it where a dissaster.
XP For ever.
I coming back when Avast Home here running. ;D
