I use to run Avast Home with ZoneAlarm Anti-spyware, but since I found out I can now use my ZAAS license with the new ZoneAlarm Pro version that’s been released, I decided to installed it with Avast. I was wondering though if there are still problems with Avast’s Web Shield and ZoneAlarm Pro’s Privacy Control. I answered no to the compatibility issue with Avast and all seems well. The Web Shield is scanning FF and I have ZA Pro’s Privacy Guard on. Thanks.
Thanks for the info
I’m using ZA 6 so no AS
I would think that AS would be ok and AV would not
any problems let us know
No problem with giving this info, but I was hoping to get some confirmation that by not answering yes everything will still work properly with Avast’s Web shield and ZAP’s Privacy Protection. I know something needed to be changed before for the two to work together and as I said I didn’t do that. I guess if the Web Shield is scanning FF it doesn’t matter. Any reassurance would be appreciated. I searched the forum and saw older threads where there were issues if you answered no to the question at installation, but so far I think everything is fine. I might just go back to Comodo though because after I posted this question in the ZA forum it was removed. I guess there is some fear of Avast there. LOL. Thanks.
All right, I guess no one knows. ZA Forum was no help either.
If you are using ZoneAlarm Pro and Privacy Control in ZoneAlarm is set to High and if you click YES in avast compatibility dialog box the transparent mode proxy in webshield will be turned off you have to manually configure browser to access internet. To manually configure your browser watch instructional video. In this case, the value ZoneAlarmCompatibility=1 should be at avast4.ini file.

Maybe not… I’m not sure… what I know is that they’re not fast on support…
