avast! Home claims Dk07reg.exe to be WIN32:TROJAN-GEN (UPX) When it is not

This thing is driving me crazy! Avast! pops up a message when I run the service from System Requirements Lab to test my PC if it is able to run a game or not. Then that is a service file the Dk07reg.exe that is not a trojan. Every single time I use the service that annoying pop up comes up and claims it is a virus! It’s starting to drive me crazy. Any ways of disabling to scan that certain directory. The file is located at C:WINDOWS/TEMP.

To know if a file is a false positive, please submit it to VirusTotal and let us know the result. If it is indeed a false positive, send it in a password protected zip to virus@avast.com
Please, mention in the body of the message why you think it is a false positive and the password used. Thanks.
Other possibility is JOTTI. VirusTotal and Jotti both have file size limit of 10Mb.

As a workaround, you can add these files to the Standard Shield provider (on-access scanning) exclusion list.
Left click the ‘a’ blue icon, click on the provider icon at left and then Customize. Go to Advanced tab and click on Add button…
You can use wildcards like * and ?. But be carefull, you should ‘exclude’ that many files that let your system in danger.

Thanks for the quick reply. I have used this program before, but could it be that the file has been infected by the trojan or that the file is just a false positive? I tried uploading it to Jotti but it said that the file was 0 bytes and that it is being blocked by a firewall or a piece of malware. And I tested it again by using System Requirements Lab service. I’m pretty surely going to delete the System Requirements Service because I remembered that the file shouldn’t be on my Hard drive anymore. I deleted that file about 7months ago. It might be that it was infected already then.

The only time this file comes up is when I run System Requirements Lab.

Something very weird and odd just happened. The file cannot be archived due to its only location in the WINDOWS/TEMP directory. I tried packing it with PowerArchiver.

EDIT: It might be possible that it is a piece of malware because it cannot be sent to neither JOTTI nor VirusTotal. I found this file on an old CD that I had gotten from my friend that stops a trial version of a software and makes the software it is used for to be used forever. I haven’t ever used that file. It started up and avast! caught it as System Requirements Lab was analyzing my CD drive speed. Could it be possible that as it is a file that stops a trial version of a software that it has malware bundled in it? :-\ I remember getting this CD from my friend as he put a few old games for me on there.
