Avast! home doesn't log on updates

Hi to all,

I’ve just installed the AV soft on a computer which log on Internet using a gateway.

With it I surf easilly on the web and each time the soft tries to update itsel or I chose to update handly, nothing appears. No update is done.*

In the log file I can read this message:

AAVM initialization error - Unhandled exception in AavmProviderStop, IM

Does SB can tell me what does it mean and what can I do to get my AV Soft update correctly. :cry:

On the gateway computer computer, the same soft run properly without any update problem.

I cannot understand. ???

Oups…

I’ve fogotten to show you the message in the warning list.

Function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0x00000426, dwRes is 00000002.

I run with Win XP SP1 and the gateway run Win 2K SP4. The FW is ZA and is properly parameted to let getting outside all the feature of the AV soft.

Do you have any other antivirus installed?
Did you have any in the past?

Can you try to repair your installation?
Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > avast! antivirus > Remove
Then choose Repair function in the popup window (Repair).

If nothing helps, better is uninstall / boot / install again / boot :wink:
