Avast Home Edition Registration

It is terrible that you pick up another key to 14 in 14 months. It excellent remove it.

Why not do that neither the Avira in the Free version, has a license that lasts 6 months, then the update antivirus self renewing the license?

Hi thiagod!
ALWL do so, because of their licensing policy, in other hand in this situation it’s IMHO the best solution for current monitoring of quantity of users, & in case it will be needed to proportionally increase the number & capacity of update servers.
e.g. mentioned above free version of Avira now has by 10 million less costumers than Avast, & only have 6 update servers, so sometimes it takes ages ??? to get an update. ??? In case of Avast this situation is nonsense 8).
Take care. and wellcome to the forums!

Thiago… their policy is this…
We asked for an automated registration (while installing or updating) with an automated generated key (using the HDD as the ‘hardware’ certification). They don’t want…

The registration also contains the declaration that you are eligible to use the free version for Home, Non-Commercial use.

The registration or re-registration doesn’t ask for a huge amount of information and only takes a few moments to complete. This helps avast with the distribution of active users and helps ensure that there are sufficient servers for the VPS and Program updates.

Personally for the free product I don’t feel it is to onerous.
