I just booted an old machine and Avast says its going to expire in one day, but it wants me to purchase a license key for ‘pro edition’. I installed the ‘home edition’ and thought the license on that would remain free. Any ideas? Thanks - Dane
You probably need to go to http://www.avast.com/eng/home-registration.php and get another free key. Avast! has you renew the free product ~ every 14 months to see how many copies are really being used vs downloaded. And maybe for their own other reasons???
No it doesn’t just want you to purchase the Pro version it is an option but you can re-register your home version.
The registration key lasts 14 months, but you have to have registered it to get the key emailed.
How many times you’ve installed/uninstalled the Home (trial) version?
Did you register the Home version at least once?
